What Drives the Price of a Bulk Custom Coloring Book Order
We get asked for a price list often enough that it is worth explaining, in public, why we do not publish one — and then giving you everything you need to predict roughly where your project will land before you email us.
Why there is no rate card
A rate card would be wrong for most of the people reading it.
A run of 50 books where every copy is identical is a completely different piece of work from a run of 50 where each one features a different child. Same quantity, same page count, very different production. If we published a single per-unit number, it would be either too high for the simple job or too low for the complicated one, and you would have to email us anyway to find out which.
So we quote each project. It takes us a day and it means the number you get is the number you pay.
The four things that actually move the price
1. Quantity
The most obvious one, and it works the way you would expect: per-unit cost falls as the run gets bigger. Setup and design effort is largely fixed, so it spreads across more copies.
Bulk pricing starts at 10 books. There is no hard maximum — tell us what you need.
2. How much personalization each book carries
This is the factor most people underestimate, and it matters more than quantity.
- One design, printed many times. Every book identical — a property, a company, an event. Cheapest per unit, and the gap widens as quantity grows.
- One design with a personalized element. A shared book with a name or a dedication that changes per copy.
- Individually personalized books. Each copy built around a different person or family — wedding guests, a classroom, a team.
All three are things we do. They are simply not the same amount of work, and the price reflects that.
3. Turnaround
A standard timeline costs less than a compressed one. If you need a run faster than our usual pace, that is usually possible, and it is usually not free.
Most of the time the fix is not paying for speed — it is starting earlier. If you have a date, see how long a bulk order actually takes before assuming you need to rush.
4. Shipping
Where the books go, and to how many places. A single delivery to one address is simplest. Splitting a run across multiple properties or offices is something we do routinely, and it is worth mentioning up front so it is priced in rather than discovered later.
What does not change the price
- Revisions. Included. We do not cap the number of rounds, and you are not billed for changing your mind during the design stage.
- The digital proof. Every order includes one.
- Page count. Books are a custom cover plus 12 interior coloring pages. That is the product.
What you get for the money
So the comparison is apples to apples — every book is a custom cover featuring your subject, 12 interior coloring pages drawn for you rather than pulled from stock art, saddle-stitch bound in a branded cover wrap. You control the title, the cover, and the back cover.
And before any bulk run prints, you approve a digital proof and then hold a physical sample. Nothing goes to production on your word alone that it sounded good over email.
How to get a number quickly
Email us or fill in the form with these four things and you will have a firm quote within one business day:
- Quantity — a range is fine if you are still deciding.
- Whether books are identical or individually personalized.
- When you need them.
- Where they ship — one address or several.
That is genuinely all we need to price it. You do not need artwork ready, a brief, or a decision on themes.
